Colorblock LOVE Engagement Session

What could be more playful and on-trend than Amanda and Jeff’s Colorblock LOVE Engagement Session!? Incorporating bold backdrops, bubbly props and stylish outfits, this California couple wanted to share how much fun they’re having on the West Coast… and we think those glowy beach scenes hit it on the mark!

More details from Amanda… Jeff and I met one extremely rainy night in Philadelphia, about a month and a half before he moved to San Diego to take the California State Bar. I had plans to go out with my girlfriends (plans that we were so close to canceling because of the weather), but one of them recommended that we brave the storm and meet up with her brother and his friends…and Jeff happened to be one of those friends! We had an instant connection and spent that whole night and all the time leading up to his drive across the country together, and when the day came to say goodbye, we knew we would make it work. After a year of long distance and more than enough money spent on coast-to-coast flights, I finally made the move to San Diego, where we’ve been living happily in SoCal sunshine ever since. We just celebrated four years together on April 16 and are excited to get married on our five year anniversary date next year!

Jeff and I are having our wedding on the East Coast to be closer to our families, but we love our life together in San Diego, and knew we wanted our e-sesh to capture how much fun we have living in SoCal. I remembered obsessing over Jen from AcquaPhoto’s work after seeing engagement photos she took for a dear friend of mine, so I knew immediately she was the perfect fit for us. We collaborated and came up with a list of the perfect props and dreamy locations, inspiring our Colorblock Love Shoot. Jen was so easy going and a gem to work with. She did an amazing job of letting us be our goofy selves and capturing our story through color, love, and laughter.

“Working with Acqua Photo was an absolute amazing experience!

Prior to booking our engagement session, I had been obsessing over the work they had done for a dear friend of mine’s engagement and wedding. I was instantly drawn to their way of telling beautiful stories through photography, capturing the most special moments through composition, color and light.

Prior to the shoot, Jen with Acqua Photo was so friendly and collaborative on the phone and via email, working with us to come up with a list of the perfect props and dreamy locations that inspired our colorful e-sesh in La Jolla, California. She even took the time to put together a one-of-a-kind inspirational board on Pinterest, just for us!

When the day of the shoot came, Jen was such gem! She was timely, friendly and super enthusiastic. We instantly connected with her, which made it easy for us to be our goofy selves, laughing and smiling our way through the day. We ended up incorporating three locations with outfit changes all around La Jolla and time just breezed by because we were having so much fun with Jen. When the last picture was taken, we didn’t even need to see the final photos yet to know she had accurately captured our love story.

The day after, we got our first sneak peek and we were blown away! Within two weeks, we received the rest of the pictures and were overjoyed with the results. There was so much variety and detail, and the way the final pictures were delivered to us made it easy to share with our family and friends across the country.

Needless to say, I would recommend Acqua Photo to anyone looking to book a photographer for anything. You will not be disappointed!”
