San Diego Museum of Art Wedding

This San Diego Museum of Art Wedding is every bit as stylish and fun as the grooms themselves! Perfectly designed and coordinated by Brenda of Swann Soirees, it’s just the right mix of color and sophistication. Alex and Alexander chose a palette of navy, coral, and gold with bright accents and lots of lush greenery. With custom made bow ties and ties, bright socks, a bevy of beautiful maids dresses, and fanciful flowers from Adorations, they set the tone for a playful and love filled day! The ceremony was held in the intimate sculpture garden adjacent to the Museum of Art at Balboa Park. Garlands of fresh vines and roses draped from row to row to accentuate the aisle, and a leather lounge welcomed guests to relax and sip signature cocktails. As Alex’s sister officiated an amazingly sweet and personal ceremony, the sun set behind the bell tower and Alex and Alexander officially became husband and husband! Dinner was held under the stars with multicolored paper lanterns strung above long rows of family style seating overflowing with lush vines and a gold chevron table runner. Mini stations served a variety of gourmet eats.  After dinner, guests moved inside the beautiful San Diego Museum of Art for dancing, studiobooth fun, and the opportunity to view the gallery’s exhibitions by night.  We love how this wedding combined the couple’s love for art and culture, great food, and lots of laughter!

Shane & Jen were an amazing duo to work with! Knowledgeable, likeable, sociable… basically all of the “ables” you can think of! From our first meeting for coffee, their unique style and love for each other left us with no choice but to say yes! Not only did we find their photographic style to be exactly what we wanted; we found that we just clicked (no pun intended!) They just seem to have an effortless magic that allows them to float seamlessly from person to person, situation to situation, and pose to pose. While they may not actually have any mystical powers, what they do have is great connection, passion for their work and a desire to capture the true spirit of an event. One of our main fears was that our wedding photos would turn out to be chock full of forced smiles and unnatural poses. But with Shane & Jen leading us, (and it being the happiest day of our lives—duh!) we found it easy and fun! We had such a blast with our wedding party that we knew the photos would be great. And for our couples photos, having a couple to demonstrate what would look beautiful and natural was priceless.
